Quick Romantic Dinners For Date Night In

Sometimes, the most romantic dates are the ones you have at home. After all, there’s nothing quite like cooking a delicious meal for your loved one and enjoying it in the comfort of your own home.

If you’re looking for some quick and romantic dinner ideas for your next date night in, here are a few of my favorites:

1. Pasta with Creamy Tomato Sauce

This classic dish is easy to make and always a hit. Simply cook your favorite pasta according to package directions. While the pasta is cooking, heat up a jar of your favorite creamy tomato sauce in a saucepan. Once the sauce is heated through, add the pasta and toss to coat. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese and a side salad for a complete meal.

2. Steak Frites

This French classic is simple but elegant. To make steak frites, simply season two New York strip steaks with salt and pepper. Grill or pan-fry the steaks to your desired doneness. While the steaks are cooking, cut two russet potatoes into thin fries. Fry the fries in hot oil until golden brown. Serve the steaks with the fries and a side of your favorite dipping sauce, such as béarnaise sauce or ketchup.

3. Salmon with Roasted Vegetables

This healthy and delicious dish is perfect for a romantic date night in. To make salmon with roasted vegetables, simply preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Toss one pound of salmon fillet with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place the salmon on a baking sheet and roast for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through. While the salmon is roasting, toss one pound of your favorite vegetables with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place the vegetables on a baking sheet and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until tender. Serve the salmon with the roasted vegetables and a side of rice or quinoa.

4. Chicken Piccata

This Italian dish is both light and flavorful. To make chicken piccata, simply pound four boneless, skinless chicken breasts thin. Season the chicken with salt and pepper. Dredge the chicken in flour. Heat up a tablespoon of olive oil and a knob of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. Add a quarter cup of white wine and a quarter cup of lemon juice to the skillet. Bring the sauce to a boil and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until reduced by half. Return the chicken to the skillet and cook until heated through. Serve the chicken piccata with a side of pasta or rice.

5. Chocolate Lava Cakes

These decadent desserts are the perfect way to end your romantic date night. To make chocolate lava cakes, simply preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour four ramekins. In a medium bowl, whisk together one cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, half a cup of butter, and half a cup of sugar. In a separate bowl, whisk together two eggs, one egg yolk, and one teaspoon of vanilla extract. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and whisk until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cakes are set and the centers are still gooey. Serve the chocolate lava cakes immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
